Zachary Blas Perez is an Associate Attorney with Tucker, Nong & Associates, focusing on removal defense and affirmative asylum.
Zach graduated from Bowdoin College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government & Legal Studies, a minor in Theater, and a specialization in international conflict resolution. He obtained his Juris Doctor, graduating cum laude, from the American University Washington College of Law in 2021. Zach served as an editor for the Journal of Gender, Social Policy, and the Law and competed two years as a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. He also worked a full year as a student attorney with the Immigrant Justice Clinic. He is barred in Maryland and registered with the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
A first-generation attorney, Zach enrolled in law school to advocate for better treatment of immigrants. He previously worked for three years with the National Immigrant Women’s Advocacy Project (NIWAP), specializing in U-Visa certification and VAWA self-petitions. Zach also interned with the government as a Department of Justice Civil Rights Division attorney in their Immigrant and Employee Rights Section, where he performed “Know Your Rights” seminars for immigrant employees and investigated discriminatory hiring practices. Zach has a passion for fighting the system and delivering his client’s best narrative.
